Sprayed I pieced together

I knocked this little project out in a couple of hours. Built it last spring. Everybody said I wouldn't be happy with a 12 volt pump, that I should use a roller. I went ahead with a 4 gallon per minute pump. This is its second year in operation. It's been ran over well over 400 acres. I slide it off the little trailer when I want to use it for something. I jerk the board out the pump is mounted to, and put it in my shop for the winter. The tank stays outside year round. Didn't keep up with my dollar amount, but it's well under $200. Thought somebody might could benefit from it.

I use a similar pump setup for liquid fertilizer. Works well. Used the set up for over 5 years, never so much as a 'hiccup'.Also built a similar tank and trailer to hold liquid N for sidedressing corn with the cultivator.

(quoted from post at 06:01:03 06/26/15) How wide does it spray?

Fred

I've got 2 nozzles for it. The 3 piece nozzle about 40 feet. It can be shut off in section. Just leaving the center section on is great for spraying the middle of gravel roads etc. you can turn one outside tip on, and turn its trajectory up to do fence rows. I have another tip on in the bottom picture. It's what I use on pasture. It spray 30 feet. The way I mounted the tips to the tailgate, favors the single nozzle.ots of vibration and bouncing. It's never phased the brass tip. It'll shake the 3 piece to death.

You did good for $200. Those PTO rollers (Roundup Ready) pumps will kill you with sticker shock, pretty
spendy. Having said that, I'm building a 3 pt PTO tractor mount 150 gallon setup. I have a trailer mount
with a gas engine drive with the 7 roller pump set on top of the tank and I've really suffered tryin' to
get the pump to take prime once it's been shut off. My current setup looks similar to yours. My tank is a
salvaged Big Truck aluminum fuel tank. Those plastic caged square cube chemical tanks like yours are
expensive where I live. Apparently they are High value items. I tried and tried to get one but they were
beyond my budget. I did spring for good hose reel and put almost 200' of 3/8 hose on it. The neighbors
all use it. I have a hell of time getting them to spend the time to real it back proper though, and most
of the time I get it back with the hose All tangled on the reel. Just a few thoughts from my operation.
