New to bush hogs

I need a little help, I have a MF245 diesel and are looking for a bush hog to clear small 2"-3" saplings, any ideas? Thank you

Bush hog 305 on my L3130 Kubota. a loader is a necessity to push down the trees before mowing them if they are thick together. also a skid plate on the loader under carriage would be be a plus. I have a lot of exposed hyd lines and the filter too on the Kubota. It worked well. went surfing once or twice. it'll take 4" trees also just one at a time. just make sure the slip clutch works and is adjusted properly.

I have a 245 and pull an OLD 6 foot JD hog, a 3 inch cedar is about as big as I want to mow. My dad has a 255 with a 7 foot Bush Hog, a 307, and it eats that stuff like candy. That being said when you hog something that size there is a LOT of flying stuff that sometimes is heading toward you. You also leave a LOT of stobs that will gladly tear up your tires. I would think that you may be miles ahead to have them bulldozed and then hog the resulting ground as it recovers. Before you pick a hog make sure you know what size it is rated for. The cheap ones won't handle the abuse.
My opinion, your mileage may vary.

I have an 8ft Squealer(Bush Hog) behind a 656,if I can drive over it I will mow it. (Stump jumper and a clutch.)

Be very careful cutting those 2-3" saplings, the rotary cutter will leave a very jagged
stump with a sharp point. That stump will become hard and next year pierce a rear tire
before you know what happened.

If you just have a few small trees, you might cut them off flat with a chainsaw. New
rear tires can get expensive fast.

I have punctured a good rear tire like that, boot lasted for a while, have a set of new
rear tires, I would not want to run over that ground behind you after you rotary cut
trees that size.

I have replaced a LOT of rear tractor tires from people doing just what you are wanting to do. The holes those stumps make are too big to boot. We were able to save some of the tires by sending them out and having sections put in them but that takes at least 1 week to do. BE CAREFUL!
