just starting to use a 499 I bought. I am putting a parts order together for the 499. Beside tines, sections and guards, what are some high wear items I should keep on hand? some wobble arm bushings?

Just the left and right tines on the reel, and the guards and sections. Could get a new set of sickles on hand, they go in the frame on the left side. Ran the 499 over 15 years and never had the bushings go bad. Bearings in the reel have gone bad. Good lasting machine other wise.

I run a 499. Sections and gaurds are primary.I carry and use bolt on sections, easy to change in the field.Never broke or lost a reel tooth.Never replaced a wobble busing/bearing.Get an extra sycle if you want. You wont need it. I have an extra, never used it.I did replace the reel drive belt once.Buy your parts from Shoup.Pretty solid reliable bullet proof machine.

Make sure that you have spare guards, sections, and section bolts for the center of the cutter bar.....they are different than the rest of the cutter bar

Always good to have an extra 'overlap' kit on hand. And one each(1 L/1 R) of the outer end sections. These are different than regular sections
