Stumpjumper Removal Finally figured out

I was having a heck of a time getting the stumpjumper off my old bush hog and came across quite a few topics, threads, videos, and questions about the same thing. After about a week of trying all sorts of pullers and wedges and beatings to no avail, I finally came up with an idea and by golly it worked like a charm. Only have one picture of it now but I can take more if anyone is interested. Basically I welded together some rectangular tube to make a cradle to hold a 20 ton bottle jack. Almost like a portable press of sorts. Bolted the thing in place through the holes for the blade pins and less than 6 pumps later it broke right free.

Nice job! Now you can bring that rig over and pull mine loose ;-)
Seriously, did you use grade 8 bolts on the "pads"?

I have a much easier way. As soon as you get your mower find a place to mow that used very light gauge wire for electric fence. run over some that was left lying around so that it will wrap around the shaft. Don't stop yet. Mow for ten more minutes to finnish the job up. When you get back to your shop support it as high as you can get it and clean the wire out. You should now have a healthy leak, maybe 2-3 ounces per hour will keep everything lubed up under there. Two minutes to refill before use beats two weeks of fighting to get it off in your book.
