Anyone one know which manufacturer sells the most rd hay balers in both locations?

Which brand is rated #1 in performance if there is such a thing?

If there is a #1 whom is #2 & #3?
Thanks,Jim

Around here, ( South East South Dakota)it is about a tie between New Holland and Deere. No Vermeer dealer close so you don't see very many at all.

Claas just celebrated building 50,000 round balers, mostly sold in Europe, although they seem to be gaining in popularity in the USA.

Informal local survey I would say Deere, then NH (Case), then Claas, and then the rest. NH used to be strong in the Sothern Tier counties but that may have changed.

Green about 99% old and new. Why? They must work! I've had 4 green and a couple or so of other colors. Current is green

(quoted from post at 18:52:29 06/09/15) around here in southern middle Tn id say 60% vermeer and 35% john deere and a few case and new hollands.

A few yrs back there was a former member of YT that was a Vermeer dealer in Tn. He stated Vermeer sold more rd balers in USA than any other manufacturer. I called Vermeer in Pella,Iowa and asked sales manager if that was true. He stated NO it was not true.

Around here in North Idaho, Green is the winner! No questions asked. Neighbor was the ONLY one I knew of using a New Holland, and it was an OLD, hammered, Sperry/NH. He bought a brand new 459 JD Net wrap last year..... Wow!!! What a machine!

Up North in BonnersFerry, they have a New Holland dealer, but there is also another JD dealer next to them. Don't know who has what up there, but I would guess there are a lot more JD's....

around here it seems to be true, everywhere else i have no clue

In our area of NE Iowa it is about a tie between John Deere, New Holland and Vermeer. I work at a small New Holland dealer and we move a few balers. We have traded in a fair amount of Deere balers due to their net wrap design. The front feeding net wrap does a nicer job. We have lost customers to Vermeer lately due their capacity in corn stalks although I must say the bale shape isn't anything what a New Holland does. Im hoping the new RB series will perform better in corn stalks.

I know Claas is the most popular in Europe. In NA I would suspect Deere holds that title although I'm not sure. On a global basis... I really don't know. I think Claas would be a strong contender. There are several others out there that are popular in other places that really have no following here at all so it's a hard question to answer without a lot of stats.
