After spending a day on the net and the phone my search told me this. If I found an IH reduction sprocket at a dealer, not possible it would cost between 450 and 725 dollars. I located one in salvage yard in WI, according to counterman, it was "well worn but usable" He didn't have any way to send a photo. With shipping 160 dollars.
Found a "WeldaSprocket" sourced by G&G in Omaha. in Sioux Falls. They shipped it UPS. 44 dollars total.
I cut and ground the old sprocket. Machinist is fitting the two parts. I'll get Lanse to weld it up.

I have two 990's and one has had to have all of the sprockets replaced twice in twenty seven years of use. Usually the lower drive sprocket will also be worn as all sprockets that a bad chain ran on. I turned the worn teeth off and bored a weld it sprocket to the sizes needed to put them back on. All four sprockets. They are cast steel and TIG weld easily. I found the lock collars on the rollers sometimes slipped and allowed this misalignment of the chain to wear sprockets. A new 10 ft. #60 chain will complete the job. Last summer I replaced the bearings on the rolls and the wobble box pin and bearing. These are great machines but do require attention when worn. If you need to repair more, email me and I'll get you the part no.'s for bearings and things.
