disc mower cutterbar leaking

got a kuhn gmd600 gII that is leaking oil somewhere around the next to last skid shoe. has anyone had any luck repairing leaking cutterbars?

Steven, you need to find out just where it is leaking. If the seal between the two halves requires a bar split. Look close for a crack in the lower half of the bar. Had one that had a crack and had to split and welded it up after cleaning the snot out of it. Not too bad of a job to split bar just make sure you buy all new bolts as you will most likely will use the torch to remove the old ones. I have one that is all tore apart right now. If it is the individual pods it could be one leaking past the bearing seal under the blade hat. Good luck.

pretty sure it is the bottom pan wore thru and leaking, im going to cut my 2nd cutting with it then probly tear it down this winter and try to fix it.

Just keep an eye on your oil level. I did just the same thing when mine started leaking. Waited until after haying to fix. Good luck.
