Me and the boys 95% finished the hay wagon and put it to use over the weekend. Pulled it out of weeds, stripped what was left of the deck off, extended the frame, primed and painted it. Friend of mine runs a saw mill and made me a deal on rough cut lumber, pieces he had piled up and unsold. New tires on the rims - bearings were OK. Wagon is 14ft x 8ft and is an old Momtegomery Ward running gear.
Next up is to add a 2x4 across the bottom edge of the long deck sides, trim, reinforce the rear backstop and put another coat of deck sealant on everything.
I need to get a pic and uploaded of the finished wagon without hay.
The addition of a wagon towed behind the baler was a significant upgrade in our hay making efforts.
For the fun of it, we are going to work at it - to back up the wagon while still hooked to the baler!
