Anyone know what size(square) the axel is? I can't find any info on it. I know it's a series D disc but can't make out the model number. It has 16" disc and is a 6' model. I want to order notched disc for the front gangs. [/list]

(quoted from post at 06:32:10 05/22/15) Mast small disks like that use 1" square axles. Take off the gang nut and find out.

Yeah that was my thought also. . That's going to take a lot more effort than I planned.

It is 7/8".

I had to use a large chain wrench to hold the disc axle, torch to heat the large axle
nut, then large wrench to turn the axle nut.

But it came apart fairly easy, was able to replace the blades as necessary.

Be careful, can be a bit dangerous as each part is heavy, Sharpe, awkward, wants to fall
over all the time.

Might secure the services of an assistant as you do this work.

Block up anything that might fall on you, also note the thing wants to roll all the
time.

Don'tknow on that model but on the drag disk of that same time they used a 1" diameter round axle with a fine thread nut. Don't know just where my books are now.
