Mouse Problems

Was working on a truck yesterday and the mice had been in the cab working over the electrical wiring. They had really chewed up the insulation. I had put mousse repellant in the cab last fall purchased at the local farm store. The mice had even strung this everywhere. Is there a good mouse repellant on the market? What do you use? TIA

A lot of folks use mothballs as a deterrant. Personally, I prefer to stop the little rodents before they can invade. Your farm store should also have that chunk bait for feeding rats and mice.

No reason not to put some mouse poison around the shop and in the truck. If you have pets put in in some sort of can or box with a hole in it.

I have been happy with the oil of peppermint too. I got some three years ago after getting the recommendation here. I have been using it in the travel trailer, and I am going to put some under the hood of my new snowmobile and in the cab of the snowmobile trail groomer.

This issue has been discussed a lot on NAT. Clean the equipment the mice are getting into really well, bait away from the equipment they are getting into, and I have very good results with a heavy dose of Febreeze and use some of the lavender scent gel air fresheners in the cabs. I wish I had a picture of bait stations I made out of 1.25" PVC to hold bait blocks and I have installed them around inside perimeter of shed. If you google homemade bait stations you will see some pictures.
