We have a nice 2-16 Oliver 100 trip plow, this year when we went to use it on plow day it would tril then raise right back up. Had other plows there and didnt wanna waste seat time
messing with it, gonna have to dig into it I guess...any quick ideas or experience like this? TY

I have one that does the same thing. Never got around to fixing it so will love to know what you find. I am guessing it has something locked up inside of it but as i said never gotten around to looking at it

Not overly familiar with those but I've seen old style clutches hang up due to dried out dirty grease. Maybe a simple cleaning would suffice or spray some chain lube into a crevice on it. Let us know what you found.

The spring *should* throw the rooster tail up and it *should* catch when when the plow is raised. If it doesn't catch it will crawl back up the next time you drop it. As they get old, either the spring isn't strong enough or the catch dog is rounded off. I keep a second rope rigged up to lift the rooster tail up so it can latch.

Had a grain drill and it was the same way. Took it a part and cleaned it out. Lots of dried dirty grease and now works fine.

If that is the roster comb do not take apart. Just get yourself a pick think ice picl and just start using it to pick out all the crud at every point in lift and keep at it using like WD 40 to wash out the crud as you loosen it. Only then if you find something broke only take that part apart.

Thankyou Leroy that is definately where I will start! I assume they are complicated to get back together if torn apart? Ty again!
