John deere manure spreader bearings

I have a John Deere model h series 47 manure spreader and the bearing on the rear shaft are seized. I am wondering if anybody else has had issue and if so I am wondering if I can get replacement bearings. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Remove the bearing(s) and take them to any bearing supply house; they should be able to match them. I don't think any equipment manufacturer made their own bearings; they bought them just like you can do if you go to the right place.

If you are too far from a bearing supply house. find the numbers on the bearings, call the supply house and have them shipped to you.

my spreader is a 80 miles and an hour and a half away but if i remember right those are sleave type bearings and have a grease zerk on them.Miight be able to get from jd but i hear they are dropping a lot of older parts. There is supposed to be a used equipment junk yard some where that might have them.there used to be a place that bought up the old manufacturing items so they could make them. Sorry i couldnt be more help. Is theshaft on the spreaders rear rotating beaters or in the little gear box on the left side?

Which set of bearings are you referring to? The relative bearings or the true bearings????

"Rear bearings" is a bit ambiguous, at least to me. Below is a link to the parts catalog (in .pdf format).

Download it and look up the part numbers of what you need, and post 'em, check with the DEERE dealer, and do a 'net search for "DEERE (insert part# here).
Spreaders

I know this doesn't solve your problem and I hope other's can help but I bought one about 10 years ago and as I recall it's a Model C. Seems to be an antique but it gets the job done. Still works and yes, lots of zerks. Tires are F1s, completely weather cracked, hard as nails but still hold air.

IIRC those spreaders used caged roller bearings. They could be problematic to find now, depending on the size.

JD still lists the axle brgs for a H spreader.

I have a friend that is in the bussniess to make those straight roller bearings, he can make any size needed

Manly trying to let it out that there are still places making them and not having to find old stock that you are told does not exist any more. 30 some years ago was told on a KBA wheel disk you could no longer get those straight roller bearings for the spoke wheel models. Had to cut old spindals out and weld in new style.
