Row marker on corn planter

Ok I bought an IH 56 that was set for wide rows. I have narrowed it to 30" rows but do not know the length need for the row marker. I have the owners manual but that does me no good as the original marker arms are long gone and have been replaced by something newer. So if I measure from the out side planter to the end of the marking disk how far should it be?

Thanks All

Matt

It depends on if you are using a wide front or narrow if you follow it with a front tire. If you want it centered measure from the center of the planter to the outside unit plus half your row spacing.(15") If you have to lay out the rows on the ground so you can visualize it.

Matt, it's pretty simple. You will be planting 4-30" rows. Total width is 120". Measure from the center of your planter 120". This is where your marker will need to drop. Set both markers the same. Mike

Really simple, I do not use the stupid things! Been planting for years without them, you get use to where to drive. Neighbor picked on his dad once, said I had neater planted field than he did.

Some neighbors do that for the first round, they can pick up 2-4 rows of land that way...... ;)
