Help me identify my "Old-New Idea" spreader

So first off this is my first post here! All of a sudden Im in need of some farm machinery advice and full of interest in all things "antiquated". Ive worked on cars for years and have recently started a small vintage restoration business. In the meantime Im helping out on my family's farm and we are in need of a bigger spreader (which we already have, just needs my loving touch).

So here she is just because it kills me to click a thread and have nothing to look at ;)

This thing has been around since I can remember (at least 1990) and has been..."fixed up" once before. The wood was replaced with plywood however my plans include some neat composite tongue and groove deck wood if I can find it in the right dimensions as we intend to use this thing. It also needs avery bit of a new conveyor chain.

Ive read a couple threads of guys who restore these little guys so any advice from yall would be great. And I also found a place (macnair.com) that supposedly has parts for new idea spreaders, let me know if there is a better place.

Either a 12 or 12A depending on if roller bearings of brass sleeve bushings, and the roller
bearings are older, I have 2 in junk line to part out now and parted one out last fall.
What type of parts do you need? Some parts are same as on the 10A and No 8 or No 9 spreaders.
Hoping to get back on finnishing up the 10A so I can get started on the No 8. Just don't feel
like doing much after passing of my wife middle of March and then all the things running I
have to do because of that. I might have a good used web chain, was planning on using it in a
No. 8 spreader but think I have enough on both No 8 that I will not need it.

Hey Leroy, the only parts I need (so far) are the main conveyor belt chain (and I do mean the whole thing. For what ever reason it isnt there. And I need the chain on the right side that spins the distributor off of the main cylinder.

What ever you use to repair it use 3/4" thick for floor and sides as that is what was used new and different thickness will make parts not fit together correctly. I could measure and tell you the exact width of each board as orignal. And for the floor start with the middle board as the bed is tapered wider at the back so you nee to start in middle to get equal tapers on both sides and not all floor running at angle. And there are different spacing for each bar in the web, not all the same as would think but the book tells how many links between each. I do have the parts books for them, it might be a No 14 instead of the 12, by length of bed I could tell.

Yeah I realized in searching for parts I needed to get some measurements so Il report back tomorrow with some numbers. And thanks for the tip on the wood thickness, thats kind of the thing I was wondering about as the plywood used has rotted in some places and swelled in others. Is there a data tag on it some where that tells the model or is it mostly identified via dimensions?

My FIL had one like that but I don't know what model it was. He would make new sides and bottom and keep it going. Maybe you could tell me if the parts in this picture for it?

On mine there's a tag on the left forward side. It will give a "Lot" number, not a model. There is supposedly some place you can go to get the info off the lot number, but i never found it. You should be able to get the apron chain easily.

I'm also told those bottom board taper from front to back. I'd measure carefully.

http://macknair.com should have all the parts you need.
