Sickle mower model? Parts?

Any idea what model this sickle mower may be? I am thinking of buying but the guy lost the pitman arm side of the ball joint (the cups). Trying to figure out if it's worth it and I could find the part or if it will just be unusable and I'll never find the part. It's mounted on a Farmall H. Thanks Dave.

Those ends are pretty easy to find. I would be willing to bet that one from just about any IH mower will work for you.

It's an IH 27V or a member of that family.
Very good for flat field mowing. Don't buy it for roadside ditch mowing.
Parts are everywhere.
Lift with a rock shaft, or adapt a remote cylinder to lift the cutter bar.

Good chance Case/IH would still have them. Many would fit more then one machine. I have also seen then in the Farm and Home stores. That is a part that is common to get lost when the pitman arm breaks. I have a JD-#9 sickle mower I let a friend use and he lost that part when he hit a tree that was to big to cut and broke the pitman stick

Many of the older machines had PTO shafts with no covers on them. Shoot the shaft on the sickle mower I have on my BA does not have a cover on it and NEVER has

Where you located? around here any of the farm stores have them. Just ask for pitman stick spoons at about any place that sells hay equipment. As far as I know they are
all the same. I have IHC JD and Kosch all on my Kosch mowers. If you need more help send me an email. I can get you some new ones ans send them to you.

Thanks for all the advice the guy actually found the
piece and I picked it up today for $600. Thanks
again for all the help!!

It is a 25V not a 27V. It has the 25V gag link (lifts the outer end of the bar to keep it level) and has the 25V drawbar.
The 27V has a straight U shaped drawbar while the 25V is U shaped and swept back.

You might check with the previous owner for the PTO guards. They'd be U-shaped sheet metal. A lot of folks usually didn't bother with the guards, They might be off in a corner somewhere.
