I have a older JD wagon, on the frame inside the RR wheel it has 7 H 109 stamped on it. Could this be model and serial numbers and if so any way to find anything about it.

Thanks Frank

I have 5 John Deere wagons and that is the serial number but I have asked a few times and no one seems to know anything more about it. If you should find some one that knows something let me know.

The one I have only had around hole in the pole but some one welded on it to make it connect to a drawbar like newer wagons do. that and the way it looks leaves me to believe it may be older. The box on it is not original.
Thanks Frank

That might be a part number. Deere did not stamp serial numbers on anything. Most machinery did not have a serial number and the few items that did either had a tag or most likely it was painted on with a stencil. If you want to find model then put a picture on here but if you cannot do that then with several questions answered might be able to figure it out. Models 801, 902, 951, 952, 953, 963, 943. That takes you up to the 70's time frame when they went to a different style toung and 4 numbers in model.

On my wagons the numbers are all different so l'm thinking serial number not part number. They are stamped in the right rear axle. I have 3 943 wagons and the numbers are all different.

Thanks Leroy, I will get it up to the shop this weekend and then try to post some pictures. This one may be older than the 900 series. What little of the original wood that is left is weathered really bad.

Post a picture of a wheel and the toung mount. The 902 is the first rubber tire model Deere built and first with bearings, the 802 was only a steel spoke wheel with brass bushings for bearings, then the 951 followed the 902 with the 953 followed by the 953, the 963 was a slikhtly heaver version of the 953 and the 943 is a lighter gear that is made in a different style.
