best and worst pull type sprayers

Looking for a pull type sprayer around 1000 to 1250 gal size and 60-80 ft boom. What have been the best ones and worst ones you have owned? Is hydraulic drive or pto drive pump the best? I have plenty of power and hydraulics on tractor I will be pulling it with. Thanks

Wish I coul help you. Hate to sound this young but only ever used the self propelled. Wouldn't have messed with them if I wouldn't have went to work for our local crop production services. Neighbor has a really nice one though not sure on the brand. Red with yellow tank 60' booms the nicest feature I see is the bottom of the tank slopes very hard to the front which is where the suction tube is. He says it cleans out very nice

I've got a 1000 gallon Schabin (sp?) pull type with a hydraulic driven pump. It has been a good sprayer. The parts to rebuild the pump are fairly common and it isn't too big of a pain to do. I would buy another. My chief complaint is that I have worked over the main pivots for the booms umpteen times. They seize and then break the brackets when you unfold it (60 foot boom). I think that is just how sprayers are, though. Those chemicals are hard on things.

my father in law worked for a large sprayer retailer till he retired and the sold a lot of top-airs and he likes those schaben is as good according to him. One thing he told me was to stay away from hardy because they are worth more as scrap than a sprayer. he was the sales and service manager so he has a fair amount of experience. I don't know why he didn't like hardy.

FYI Schaben has changed names to Ag Spray of Columbus Nebraska, same place east of Columbus. chris
