In reply to anyone still interested in Lasco Lightning Weeders, I was once involved with a dealer for these and used to rent them for demo purposes through my rental company that I have since sold but still have the Lasco Inventory. I have three complete generator units, at least on complete bar assembly, manuals and lots of spare parts but they have been in storage since the 80's, so, I will need to do some research if anyone is still interested in any of this.

I can talk from experience, this machine is an amazing piece of equipment but the company that sold them ran into financial difficulties at about the same time that the Sugar Beet plant in our area shut down and it was a tough sell trying to get the farmers that were using it for crops other than sugar beets to embrace it. One of the keys was that the crops with weeds in them had to have quite a bit of moisture in the weed plant for this to work well...it got best results when used right after being irrigated.

I always figured that I would use the generators as PTO driven generators and still will if there is no interest elsewhere. If I remember correctly, they are 60kw gen sets. Thanks in advance, Rodger
