Every time I plow or till my garden I find some small rusted treasure from yesteryear. This year I just plowed up the patch and found this part stuck in my plow. I haven't the slightest idea hopefully someone can help???? Keep in mind I live on a farm that was homesteaded in 1854 so it could be from any time period.

my uncle had one on a well pump, the type with the chain and the rubber stopers that drag the water up the pipe.

I also thought GEM well pump handle but I looked them up. They had a round section at the drive end to act as a bearing to carry the weight of the handle end.

I would guess that the post about it being from a hand corn sheller to be a good one.

kind of looks like a handle off an old corn sheller.

note the picture of my old Black Hawk corn sheller, does not show the whole picture of the handle, but it also has a wooden handle grib with the small bolt through it.

would be my guess, drive a nail up in the barn somewhere and hang it up, someday it will be a conversation piece for your grandkids, attach a note to it, that it probable is a corn sheller handle, the date and place you found it.

But then again, I enjoy old stuff and think about the people that used it years ago, what a joy it must have been to have a corn sheller over having to shell the corn by hand.

I believe you all are correct. I looked up pictures online and it's an exact match. Another reason why this is my favorite website! Thanks for the input!
