JD1209 mo-co

Now that's April it's time to start thinking about getting the hay equipment dusted off. Only problem I had with the mo-co last
year was in some spring oats. When I lower the header it tilts back on its shoes but within 100 ft the drive side would load up
with clods and loose dirt behind the sickle on the platform and not cut worth a hoot. On a regular sod hayfield it never did
this. I'm assuming it was because of the softer dirt from the spring tillage, but there must be a way to adjust it to work
properly. I have the shoes set at their highest position so the sickle is about 3" off the ground. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "tilts back on its shoes"? Are the bolts at the top of the spring towers tight? That's the adjustment for the cutter bar angle. They should not float. My 1207 was like that from PO when I got it. That or maybe your float springs need adjustment. You have to reset them avery time you change the cutting height.
