Does anyone know why the paint on this series of balers seems to be so much
more faded, rusty, etc than other NH balers of the same age? Not rusted out, just faded to brown.

Every one I have seen, and they are fairly rare (they are a big commercial, large chamber baler) seems
to have worse paint than other NH balers.

Supposedly they are a real good and strong baler.

It might be that the older balers had some lead in the paint that under gubmint mandate was eliminated many years ago. Since then, they have found some better ways to make paint that seems to hold up as well as the older leaded paints. But, there was a period in there that no paint seemed to do very well at protecting the metal from the elements.
