Kubota disc mowers?

Someone needs to buy one so the rest of us will know how good or bad they
truly are, I think they should be ok but don't own one myself.

I demoed one last summer. The guy that delivered it wasn't real helpful, but we made a round his way, and the rest my way. I was
quite impressed!! I have always run a double bar Kosch mower, and the Kubota did everybit as clean of job as mine would have.
Reason I tried it, was because I couldn't mow through the wet, tangle nasty slough grass. One thing I did figure out is it will mow
ANYTHING including spools of barb wire, wood posts, and old television sets. (This meadow hadn't been hayed in 20 years) Even with
tearing all the junk on the ground up, we never hurt the mower at all.
I only used it about 4 hours, so I have no clue as to the wear points.

Kubota bought the company that makes Vicon mowers, so they are Vicons, painted orange. We have a Vicon CM240 and really like it. An 'older' model, but does mow really well. The newer ones are easier to change spindle bearings, gears etc.

Neighbor has a Vicon which, I think is the same thing. I wouldn't have it as a gift. It does fine as long as your not in a hurry in heavy hay. He was mowing with some other brands helping an ill neighbor and about twice a round he had to pull out of the way and unplug it. There were two kuhns and a 2000 series bushhog. All of them would mow circles around the Vicon. Around here Kuhn is the most popular. Or a John Deere which is the same mower. I also mowed once with a neighbor who had a New Holland and it plugged too much also. I have a 2008 Bushhog which does a good job.
