Finished tinkering with the Lely fertilizer spreader this weekend and gave it a workout on my hay fields.
Putting down just a light Urea (46-0-0) top coat. Weather was cool, but sunny. Expecting a bit of rain tonight - hopefully it will get washed-in.
Took one adjustment from the manual's settings and that was mostly due to to the slop in the feeding ring from metal lost to rust. I had to replace the drive shaft with a new one too.
To mark my spreading, I tried shaving cream, but found that hard to see, to is switched to toilet paper and with it discovered the JD's throttle lever is dual designed to regulate the tractor RPMs as well as serve as a spool for toilet paper....
All in all a good day.
Thanks,
Bill
