Will a 7000 planter on a rigid bar take the units narrowed down to a 15 inch row spacing? I've seen 18" and 22" but haven't noticed 15" before. Has anyone out there tried a 7000 on 15's?

I've heard the JD boxes hit into each other, lids won't stay on just too tight to each other. 18 is about as close as you can do - is what I've heard.

You need to stagger the row units every other back some to make it work.

To my knowledge that's why some companies have gone to a Double Frame System, or in the case of Kinze they have row units that attach in front of the frame, & behind the frame in stagger formation. A single frame works if no fertilizer is used; but if it is then the Double Frame is necessary.

Thanks yall. I guess I need to look for a later model. I'm sure the 7300 series will work, that row unit seems narrower.
