I just got a John Deer Sickle mower, and the emblem is stamped, so it's around 1900, I'm looking for any picture or help with this, it still moves and operates, just needs a little TLC, and it'll be operational again.

"I'm looking for any picture or help with this"

Well, as the proud owner of this classic piece of American iron, perhaps YOU could help us out with a photo to get this thing started???

If you are new here, and not approved to post a photo, either contact the site owners for permission to post a photo, or email a link to me, and I'll post it for you... [email protected].

That being said, once it is identified, you can go to www.jdparts.com with the model # and view or download the parts catalog. And some parts MAY still be available from Mother DEERE!

Take a look at the diagram below of the Dain Mower.

Note the main frame 1A and 1B with the embossed letters [b:654c4848f0]DAIN MOWER[/b:654c4848f0].

Take a look at the diagram below of the No. 4 Enclosed-Gear Mower.

Note the main frame 10 with the embossed letters [b:654c4848f0]JOHN DEERE NO. 4[/b:654c4848f0].

The John Deere No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 will also have the embossed letters on the main frame.

As [b:654c4848f0]Bob[/b:654c4848f0] mentioned below, once the mower model is identified, it will be easier for some of us to help you.

Tim has emailed me photos.

He has a DEERE #5 mover. I emailed him a link to the parts catalog on the jdparts site.

Forgot to mention, though, Tim, that you can probably find an original OPERATOR'S manual on ebay, or DEERE will sell you one for about $30 if you call them @ 1-800-522-7448.
