John Deere B Grain Drill

Where abouts can one find the seed tubes for a John Deere B Grain drill? Steel or the new rubber replacement ones. The grain drill has single disc openers. I believe the JD part number is 16743 and they are 17 1/2" long.
 
Bill, are you near Clyde, Oh? If I rememberthat is the name Jon said he was planning on seeing after he left Lima on his way home.

The part number you need is M16743, and subs up to the new part number n407659...still available from JD Parts.

hymie2lt - I contacted my local John Deere dealer and they have the tubes N407659 but he also mentioned a clamp AM11768 and cable ties. Where does the clamp attach too and the cable tie? Does the cable tie attach the top of the seed tube to the seed cup and the clamp clamps onto the bottom of the seed tube to attach it to the disc frame? Thanks for your help.

I really don't know. I just found out these were the substitution numbers for the part that you needed.

The cable tie is a zip tie to hold tube on feed cup. The clamp(parts key 7) holds tube in the seed boot. IMHO clamp(parts key 29 PN M61773) will fit a Model B seed boot better that the other clamp. Parts schematic is for a JD 8000 series grain drill.

Here's another tube(parts key 20) you could use that requires no bottom clamp as tube inserts into boot. One needs to store disks in the down position so as not to crinkle tubes while stored.
