New Idea corn pickers

Somewhere around a dozen total. However, you may have to add some for the Unisystems because they could be configured in many different ways, and the later series could also be modified to become a sheller. But then again, almost all were good shellers even when they were pickers.....

This is a no. 7, made in about 1950. I had another picture, but that one didn't want to upload.
They also had a no. 10, which I think came after this one.

Older models were like the #7 & #10, I don't remember the model numbers for the 2 row and the mounted pickers in that time frame. In the late 1950's they introduced the 300 series pickers which there at least a half dozen different models. When the unie's came out the models for them they were in the 700 series. The Unie were popular with guys that raised seed corn around here.

I don't know all the earlier machines, but the 1-row pull type huskers are the #7, then the #10, then the 310, then the 323. 1-row pull type snappers were #8 then 309. The 2-row pull types were the #6 (side elevator) #6A (rear elevator) #11, 300, 311 (wide row), 312 (narrow row) 324 (wide row) and 325 (narrow row. The mounted pickers were the #20, then 305 and then 319. There was also the 3-row pull type which I think was the 330 for wide rows and 331 for narrow rows.

I've owned a 6A, 300, 324, 325 (or is it 323?).

Don't forget the 3 row models as well.

Think there were quite a few. Everyone looks at me cross eye
when I say 300; I know that was the popular JD one, but NI
had a 300 as well.

My 300 is still behind the grove, more or less running tho not
for a few years.

The 6A has a few pieces hanging in the shed.

The wide row 324 is in lime also, I should sell so,e of that.

The metal rollers over the husking bed work better than the
rubber stars but the 300 is a pretty slow picker, drive a lot
slower than a 32x model.
