corn drag motor size

I have a 15 corn drag that is about 8" wide. bought it without a motor. worked on it over the weekend to get it going and used a motor I had, 3hp 3750 rpm. that's way to fast. I have a 2.5" pulley on the motor and a 12" on the drag. want to go to a 1750 rpm motor but don't know what horsepower I might need. local bomgaars has a 3hp motor but it's huge compared to mine. anyone have an idea what I would need or have one I could somewhat compare to?
thanks

I"m thinking a 1 hp may handle it. 1725 is the other standard rpm...doing the math in my head you"d run somewhat over 300 rpm on the driven shaft, half of current speed. Your ratio is about 5 to 1. I know I don"t have over 2 hp motors on 30 foot ten inch silage conveyors.

We always used a 1/2 HP 1725 motor on the drags we had. You want to keep it light as possible for moving it.

Maybe you need to a double reduction to slow it down, That's the way my elevator is to run it slower. Just an idea. Bandit
