John Deere 260 disc mower?

Gearbox input shaft is held on with bolt in end of shaft. Is it a left or right hand thread? THANKS

I couldn't determine for sure from viewing JDparts catalog but I'll guess it's RH threads with some loctite applied. Have you tried caressing head of bolt with a "big hammer"?

Didn't want to get rough with it until I found out which way it goes. The pulley turns clockwise and I thought maybe they used a left handed thread but, the op manual says to apply thread lock to bolt which would make me assume its right handed threads.

Tx Jim, it was a right hand bolt and Loctite was applied. I was tearing this down to put new seals in gearbox and ring seal at bottom of box that seals cutter bar. Thanks
