John Deere No.5 mower

I'm looking for the spring that goes in the end of the pitman stick on a john Deere No.5 mower that's is setup for my MT. Lost the spring when the stick broke. Any help is appreciated.

Just went out and looked but didn't find one in the drawer marked "JD No 5". Sure there is one out there somewhere and I would give it to you if I could find it, but you will likely have bought one before I put my hands on it. I started with hay many years ago pulling a JD 5 mower behind my Farmall SMTA. I had two of them. A minimum number since they break a lot and fast parts are a necessity. Sold both to a fella starting in hay a year and a half ago but I keep finding parts all over the place.

You'd be surprised how many parts DEERE still has available for those old mowers.

Below is a link to the parts catalog (in.pdf format). You can view, or print what you need, for free.

Then you will have the part numbers when you check with the local dealer.

I am sure that I have one, have 3 JD no. 5's, and am always looking for more! They are an AWESOME mower!

I am in North ID, if you need one still, or any other parts, shoot me an e-mail! Bryce

I agree! If you drop two of them in the lake about 12 feet apart you can chain your swim raft to them and no wave will move it. And your the kid who passed on the IH 100 trailer mower?

I also have many JD #5 mower parts, complete pitman arms, shafts, NOS U-joints, Early PTO shield for Unstyled JD's, every type of mount, nice steel tail wheel, rubber tail wheels, foot lift setups, etc and 2 complete #5 mowers, its all for sale. Michigan

Carlye, good Luck locating one of those, i have only ever found/had one of those Dual tail wheel assemblies. They look pretty easy to fab one up...
