John Deere 290 Power Lift Problems

Sometimes on my plant when I go to lower the unit, after the planter lowers all the way down it sometimes comes right back up again? Why is this? I am thinking it has to do with the lever on the power lift mechanism not being positioned right when it circles around? What position should it be in? Any pictures would help me a lot. Thanks.

Actually probably dirt, dried grease in clutch of possibly a wore out part or missing part, broken spring could do that. but other than the spring and that would be all the time most likely the dirt dried grease problem. Take apart and clean good.

I will do that Leroy. The lever is pretty loose as well but not sure how much to tighten it. Whereabouts is the lever supposed to sit on the power lift?

Holding the lever in the tripped position too long will allow it to cycle again. Just a quick pull and allow the lever to return to home position will probably cure the problem.

Don't know if could find my parts planters in this snow to look at them but I cannot picture what you are having that is loose.

The part that is loose is the lever itself that trips the lift. I am not sure if it is setting right on the mechanical lift when it circles around and catches again.
