Question on rebuilding farmhand hydraulic cylinder

Was needing to work on my farmhand F100 bale accumulator and have a question on disassembling a cylinder to repack it? The cylinder in question is the cylinder located below the accumulator used to push the bales across the table with spring tension return. We have the cylinder off and the rod assembly is retained into the barrel by a split bushing/bearing that is pressed into the cylinder barrel. I thought I would check to see if anyone has had one of these apart and what is the best way to get the rod out of the barrel without damaging anything? I figure you have to drive the bushing back in after repacking the cylinder, but thought I would check to find any helpful or handy tips on getting the factory bushing out with the rod. Below is the link to Agco's parts book to show the expanded cylinder, if the description I gave is a little foggy.

Any help is appreciated.
