loading a disc mower

going to a auction and hopefully will be coming home with a disc mower. how do you go about loading one up without hurting it? its a kuhn gmd700GIIHD.

I hauled a Vicon this spring. There were eye hooks on that one to lift from. There was a stop on the cylinder for the swing tongue. I took that stop off. The auctioneer hooked the hoses up to his tractor after he got it on the trailer and he swung the tongue right around tight.

I would suspect that you can fold the curtain back and put a chain around the cutterbar between discs, another chain to the headgear, then pick it up with a loader. You may have to experiment a bit with chain placement to get proper balance.
I've moved my GMD 66 in that manner.

If the bar is laid out just pick up by the 3 point hitch and load long ways, that way you can also hook your tractor to the 3 point hitch right on the trailer.

I've hauled several of those on a flatbed gooseneck. The cutter bar needs to be out in the cutting position, and there should be an eye hook, or at least a hitch point to attach a chain to. It will be the balance point, and might even be labled. Just pick it up, set it on the trailer, strap it down and go. I've had as many as 4 on a 20+5 deck.

Just chain it on the curtain support frame (main) as far to the left as you can get it... and mabey another around the lift frame. I'd lay it out lengthways on the trailer unless you have a tractor there to hitch it to... then I'd hitch it and drive on. Chain it up in the air and drive on...

just hoop up as close to the gear box as you can on the curtain support frame (main)...you can go to JD parts and look up a 275 and they are same but different color and tarp cover.....
