I need to build a quarter turn bale chute. I have a picture but need dimensions. Could someone please help me out with dimensions? Any help would be muck appreciated. Thank you

There should be some old postings on Implement Alley with plans. Somebody in N Y State posted plans that worked for me, I just can't remember who it was.

I see the old postings, but the person who had the dimensions e-mailed the figures. I need the e-mail if I can get it.

This may be controversial, but any way the JD 336 that I had, had one with it. I don't remember which way it tipped but I will suggest that you make it put the cut side down. We always did them that way because if there was misture in the ground the cut side would not lift it like the packed side would.

The number 4 is 6 inches wide by 3 feet long, and #5 is 28 inches out side to outside, but theirs is adjustable. I hope this helps, oh and it drops cut side up.

You build it right, you will be able to mount it either way. Might be useful when opening up a field to not turn the bale to the left when it exits. If it turns to the right, might be too close to the next windrow if they are close together. Cut side up or down wouldnt be more important to me than having rows of bales in the way.

If you have the regular chute just drill a hole in it about 2/3rds the way down on the side you want up and bolt a 2x4 to it sticking out from the chute. May need to experiment with the length of the board, I'm thinking it needs to be about 2'. When not in use you can just loosen the bolt a bit and swing the board under the chute.
