IH 720 Plow long landside

I saw in the parts book a longer landside that has space for two of the wear pads. Anyone have any experience using the longer landsides? Are they meant for just the back bottom or can you use them on all the bottoms? Any disadvantage to using them other than cost?

Thanks

Many plows had an optional landslide extension available for each bottom..
I have no idea if they were offered for you IH 720 plow tho (but probably were)..

They were used to keep the plow straight as vscummings said. Used on one bottom against the unplowed land.

Most Brands offered them...they are shorter than the long one on the last (rear) bottom and work especially well in looser or softer ground..
I have made them even for my JD #44 plow, and they were very common on JD F-145 (etc.) plows..
They will help keep a furrow straight in fields that have varying soil conditions..
I also have factory extensions on my AC plows..
I bet you will find them and that they were available..
