Char-Lyn control valve

Just a quick question, has anyone rebuilt a Char-Lyn 960 control valve lately? I have two controls on my loader and one is leaking at the shaft seal. Just wondering how available parts were and if you found a drawing to review when rebuilding

Thanks for the help, WR

Do the spools just return to center if you let go of the handle(spring center) If so the leak is caused by worn O-rings on the spool. Do you have any model numbers on the valves?

I did one a few years ago. I'll try and attach a scan of the drawing I used. If it's not readable, I can mail you a photocopy.
I replaced the rubber seals on the main shaft.

I believe the proper name for those washers is "cup seal". I found mine at a place near here called Catco. They were able to order them. I found the invoice this afternoon. The part no. is HRU 12-050-12.
The original Char-Lynn no. is 15301. They refer to it as a V-Ring seal.
Hope this helps.

Rich,

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for. This is too cool. Now I can fix these valves properly.

Thank you, Greg

Rich,

If you could please send me a copy of the drawing. I can not read the detail when enlarged and printed

Thank you. WR aka Greg
