New Vermeer round baler

(quoted from post at 13:13:49 01/03/15) Anyone know much about this new baler? 4x4? 5x4? 5x6? I imagine it will be quite pricey. Love to own one,but scared to ask details.

From what I know at this point, it's still just a prototype. It's a joint venture with Lely out of Europe. If it actually comes to market, it'll probably just be offered in a 5x6 bale size, mostly for the big custom guys. Maybe if there's enough of demand we might see other sizes, but again, in my mind, you're going to have to baling some serious hay to warrant that kind of cost, because no way is that thing going to be cheap.

not so sure on the size thing, sure lots of 5x6 in
the mid west, but all of europe uses 4x4 or 4x5
bales... you don't want to know the hassle of
trying to move a load over 8ft 6inches wide over
there... believe me, if the europeans are involved
then they will make the bales 4ft wide...

the non-stop baling would be nice, mother deere's balers in the UK have a curtain not a door to make baling quicker... cousin's demo'd one last summer, but haven't bought (yet)
deere baler

I really wasn't aware of Europe's load limits, maybe a 4x6 then?? It's really hard to tell in the YouTube video, but the baler's pickup is as wide or wider than that big ol' Case tractor that's pulling it, and I'm not a Case expert, and you can't really tell what model it is, but it's well over 100hp. But looking at the baler from the rear, the actual bale chamber is considerably more narrow than the baler, so it quite possibly is a 4x6.
