183 IH cultivator

Bought a 183 IH 12 row 30" cultivator and am striping it down to 6 row 30". Took the wing cylinders out and was running them in and had to have the tractor at idle or the relief valve would blow. Do these cylinders have some type of restriction built into them to make them go so slow? Thanks.

Unscrew the couplers and the hose ends at the cyl....check for an extra fitting or restrictor there.

I wouldn't be surprised. I rented a 28% applicator one time that wouldn't unfold. There was an inline restrictor in that one. The service guy from the fertilizer plant came up and looked at it. We took it out so I could get done. That one was a hex fitting about an inch and a half long.
