setting up a no till planter

looking at a john deere 7000 4 row planter that has yetter row cleaners on it. is that all I need for "no till" or do I also have to add the big coulters on the front as well? I would be planting both in bean stubble and corn stalks.
thanks

Gary

Row cleaners are all you need.

Make sure you have good or new disk openers on the row unit and have a good closing wheel.

so do I need to do something with the stalks? cut them down, disc or anything? I was hoping not to. do you drive in the same row or over the stalks so it plants inbetween last years rows?

You are best served to leave the stalks intact, and if you can, drive in between last years rows.

Depending upon soil conditions, you may consider some heavier down pressure springs on the row units. If it is hard and dry at planting, you'll be glad you have those.

Best of luck!
