I need the lift spring for a JD #44 plow. This is a rope trip plow. Measures about 19" long and 1 1/2" diameter. Any help on this is appreciated.

When mine broke I went to Deere and they just found a spring of similar measurement, If I had the part number handy I could tell you, but I'm sorry I don't. Somebody parting out a used one might be your best bet otherwise.

Only spring I can think of is the one on the front rod that holds the Tongue up..!!!
Would not think it would be all that necessary..

I know about that spring on the hitch....the larger spring is to aid the lifting and lowering of the plow.

I've never seen a 44 clutch lift without a lift assist spring, but I guess there's a first time for everything....

Guys,
Thanks for all your help and info. For the time being I will try to find the spring off an old parts plow...there are lots of them in this state.

Did not know Deere ever used a lift helper spring. The 2 No. 52 plows we had did not use any. They cannot be that much different than what IHC used on the No. 8 and Case used on a Centenial plow. Just a month ago got rid of some for a Case plow.
