closed center valve for log splitter

Have used a 3pt splitter for years, but run the cylinder with
remote. Id like to plumb a valve on the splitter, but having hard
time finding a valve that works with closed center systems.
Anyone know of a source? Have thought about pulling a valve
off a tractor at salvage yard and making that work.

If it is a tsc splitter they sell them. You change the spool.

I just got a log splitter with a remote valve on it that was run with a 3020 JD so it should be set up for closed center. Problem is that I need an open center valve. It is a Cross valve so I was going to do some checking to see if I can change it over to an open center or if I have to replace the entire valve. I will check and see what an entire valve costs and see if I can part with this one. Email is open

Just because a wood splitter was operated on a closed center tractor doesn't indicate it a CC valve. Simple test is remove male coupler on return hose of spltter valve and aim hose in tractor hyd oil filler hole then with splitter valve in neutral start tractor engine and engage tractor scv control lever(correct direction) if no oil comes out splitter hose the valve is CC but if oil comes out valve is open center. The accuracy of this test will be determined if the relief valve on splitter valve is set at or above test tractors hyd pressure setting.
