1240 planter again

Hi Donjr,
I just got off phone with agrisupply and they only have 13.5" disc with a 5/8 bearing bore. Is my planter different than yours? My stud is 3/4".

I'm coming into the conversation late, but do you have a parts catalog for the 1240? My PC shows a 14 inch (actually 13.5 in.) disc opener, with the disc by itself (B14133 which subs to A74203) available from Deere for $20.

In the online parts catalog from JD, I see two different styles of hub, one is a stud coming out from the planter frame, the other is an encased big screw in the disk hub that threads into the planter frame.

Which do you have?

The parts online isn't good at specifying exact measurements of stuff, just part numbers.....

Dad was good at acting stuff on hand, maybe what you are removing isn't quite stock to begin with?

Most parts if you add to the cart then you can click on the part number and will you the specifications of the part You can also do a where used search for a part number that will tell what machine a part fits

I don't remember what mine was- it's been 30 years since I had that planter. But they can likely match it, but you're gonna have to give them the measurements....

According to JD's parts book, it's 5/8". Go to 'JD PARTS' and punch in '1240, then lookat the alphabetical index, go to 'openers', and look at the 14" plateless. It will give you the cross numbers and a breakdown of what you may need....
