new idea 15 manure spreader

i have this aLMOST COMPLETE ground driven manure spreader and time to fix it, mostly the bottom wood....

whats a good place to find parts for this? like the mantle, a few chains, etc.
is it worth fiddling with the mantle? some broken off, rust is not the problem....

i guess i'll have to make a fibreglass cover, nobody has that sheet metal cover anymore....

actually it is a mccormick deering model 200 ground driven thing

Try Macknair. The IHC/McD 100 and 200 were fantastic spreaders but they use type "S" apron chain, hard to find. Macknair lists apron assys. The rest of the parts are going to be a crap shoot.

I have no idea what the "mantle" is. What part are you describing?

I don't have any idea what a mantle is either. $ New Idea and 3 Deere spreaders here now with one in prosses of rebuilding, that does not include parts spreaders. And I have operators-parts books here for about 2 dozen different model spreaders.

Fred---Your original post is about a month old. I'm just discovering that you are saying that you have an IHC spreader instead of a New Idea. I have some parts for the Model 200, and maybe I could help you out. Let me know what you need. Martin
