IH 56 planter

I have an IH 56 planter I bought last year and used it for soys and it worked real well. I want to plant some blacks next year but I understand there is only a "slobber" plate for dry beans. The ones I have the holes look a little large for the seed. For those of you that plant dry beans with one how do you adjust your settings. I want to plant about 40 lbs per acre. Should I set it for 35 knowing extra seed will get planted?

I may be mistaken, but I thought there where 2 different been plates. One for larger seeds and one for smaller. Cannot remember for sure. I do have one set in the shed that are the plastic lundstrum and may have another set of metal ones in the other shed.

I have soybean plates. It is the dry beans that I am wondering about. Maybe the soybean plates will work for dry beans. I might have to check that out.
