Morra 280/8 Hay Rake Reviews

I'm considering buying a rotary rake. I bale 200 to 300 4x4 round bales a year. Recently switched to a drum mower from a JD 1217 mower conditioner. Last two fields I tedded the morning after cutting was able to rake and bale by the afternoon of the second day, which isn't bad.

I'm looking to replace my JD bar rake with a rotary and maybe reduce the need to ted. I have heard a rotary rake fluffs up the windrow enough to help dry. If I could rake the windrow left behind my drum mower, rather than ted and rake it could save me moving equipment to the field and a pass thru the field. I'm in Southern Ohio and fields are mixed grass (orchard, fescue, clover and weeds).

I found Morra rakes on Agrisupply, but having a hard time finding any current reviews. Anyone have one of these rakes? Has it been reliable, does it work well? Any info would help.

Let me say I'm waiting to see the responses as well. I'm torn between a rotary and a belt rake. My needs are portability and fairly low hp to be used behind a 35 hp tractor. bjr

I think you are wise in waiting for someone's review. I bought a tedder from them half a dozen years ago and understand how that works, but have no idea as to a rotary rake.

Agrisupply has been selling the Morra Rotary rake for years. I saw a few comments from 2004 and 2006, but nothing recent.

Certainly someone out there has one and can tell me if it's a decent rake or not.
