I hit a rock and bent the tip/blade of my auger, which was already very wore out. The auger is fixed, but I can not find a replacement tip anywhere. The post hole digger is a Shaver, but I am pretty sure the auger was replaced by the previous owner with a non shaver auger, as they use bolt on blades and this is one solid piece. Anyone know what brand this is, or where I can find the part. I will upload photos as soon as I can.

This one looks similar, but I am not sure...

Link wouldn't work for me.

I dug a lot of holes a couple of summers ago when the ground was super hard and dry. I would flip my cutters over about every second hole. After using both sides of the cutter, I had to take them back to the shop and hand grind a new edge on them. Tedious, but it got the job done.

might think on getting a new auger with the proper cutting points or knife blades and point.

a post hole digger can be a dangerous tool, as I have seen folks do all kinds of things dumb things trying to get a digger with dull cutters to go in the ground.

with a set of new cutters or teeth and point, the digger should go right in the ground with its own weight.

when I got my old digger I bought new auger teeth for it and so far it works fine.

I saw your brand of digger, must be a popular brand and they have many replacement augers for them.

stay safe,

Method I used for hard, dry ground was to dig as far as I could then move on the next hole. Fill each hole with water, then come back tomorrow and try again. After about 3 go-arounds of that, you'd get your hole as deep as you needed.
