I received some parts today for my NH68 baler among them was a new trip arm and replacement serrated disc.
The present disc on my baler, the serrations are so worn that they resemble pencil indentations on a piece of paper. The trip arm looks the same.
Question is - would/should the trip arm have serrations like the disc? I would think yes - so they can mesh together like a set of gears, else there could be some slippage resulting in erratic length bales. Problem is, the new trip arm doesn't have any serrations, it is smooth.
I think I saw on a new New Holland baler this summer, both the disc and trip arm had serrations - buy more aggressive.
Thanks!
Bill
