Hi all, I have a chance to buy a Howard Rotavator, it is a five foot model with the 3 point offset. About how much could it be worth, the knives are about 50 percent. Second where are there any parts available, I've searched net and can't find dealers or parts. Thanks Pete

Just my opinion:

If you are buying the machine as a antique to put on the back of your little Ferguson to show at the tractor shows. Then pay whatever you want to get it.

But if you want and can afford a tiller for your tractor,
First: if you have an old tractor TO 20,30 you have to have the Ferguson gear reduction box to be able to use a tiller.

If you have a TO35 or newer then go with a new type 5 ft tiller, they work great.

I used one, country line 5 ft with my TO35, it worked great, as tractor must, must have a slow ground speed.

Would not want to pay over 1/2 cost of a new tiller, plus note how the old tiller hooks up, you take off one of the lift arms???????

I have a model E60. Most parts can be had from

When you contact them they tell you where. Mine I get from Case IH dealers here. I know I can at least get tines for it. Mine has the selectolith change gears might be the same as what you are considering. The dealer I spoke to who put me on to them felt that there is only one modern tiller thats a durable as the old howards were. I have seen them sell around here for nearly 2000 in very nice shape even at an auction of a snowy day. Mine is a very heavy machine and it does need a low geared tractor to work well.
