krone amg282 disc mower??

found a disc mower at the local equipment store that i think would be ok for my 50 acres of hay a year. it is a pull behind one that used to have a conditioner on it and someone removed it. its been sitting a couple years but the discs still turn by hand good and with no more play in them than any other disc mower i have ever felt of. looks to be leaking oil in the center of the bar, the owner says it runs real good and smooth, i think it would be a step up from my 7foot sickle mower that is starting to run pretty loud. anyone have any idea about what year this thing is and if parts are still available. how does the pull type compare to the 3pt version as far as using one. owner wants $1200 for it but think i can get him down a good bit.

I would say find a better one, pay more for it, and you will be better off and money ahead. Parts may be hard to find also. Some Vicons are getting that way. We have a Vicon 3 point disc mower built in 1990. Compared to our JD #5 sickle mower, it is new, but to the Vicon folks, it is old and obsolete.

If you are going to mess with it, only give $100-$200 for it. Just my experience.

Leave it right where it's bloody well at unless you want to buy it on tonnage across a scale. That has heartache written all over it.

All posts reflect my feelings. I have never seen a good used disc mowers . My New Holland is worn out and extremely costly to rebuild. No troubles yet but always think it will fly apart any time. 50 acres is a lot of hay to cut with a worn out mower
