Real nice picker on craigslist

If that was near me for that price it would already by in my shed. If one of the Pennsylvania jockeys sees that it will be on one of their lots soon for $3500+.

I know about as much as you do. Just saw it and looked like a heck of a nice machine at a good price.

324 I'm pretty sure. The 311 had a thing on top that was reminiscent of a gas pump globe and had the New Idea emblem on it.

Two downsides, not much wide row corn anymore and snapping rolls shell more than stripper bars. I have a friend with a 2 row picker that did custom picking for amish. He said his picker often didn't match the Amish's row width and they didn't like the ear loss and for $20 an acre he couldn't afford to only use one row at a time so he gave up that venture.

You are right. I have a 311 and it does have the emblem you mention. Also, I'm under the impression the 12 roll beds didn't come out until the 324's as well. Mike

If I were abetting man, I would say that it is a MM look alike (copy)! When New Idea officers came through the Hopkins MM plant in 1963, they bought the Uni-Tractor line and rites to all attaching units -- such as the picker husker and picker sheller. The cast iron snapping rolls and pick up chain shown in one of the pictures is the SAME as those in MM pickers and the nose separators look the same and I am aware of this since I did final inspection and timing of the snapping rolls and pick up chain

Where are you at? I'm about 60 miles away myself, in Hilbert. Family farm is in Kaukauna. We just don't pick any corn.

Near Bear Creek, WI. It's about 7 miles south of
Clintonville on hwy. 45. Bear Creek's claim to fame is
it's home of the worlds largest sauerkraut factory,
not sure if that still is true but was not too long ago.

Parents farm is located in Kaukauna so I'm not too far away. Very different soils here though.
